Nichola Byrom

She ensures that all analysts are trained under our technical operating procedures and that analysts participate in our internal bulk analysis audit process and the Asbestos in Materials Scheme (AIMS) for external quality assurance. She also leads investigations into identified non-conformances in cooperation with the Assurance Team to ensure continuous improvement in our performance.

Nichola has significant technical expertise in managing Lucion’s UKAS ISO 17025 asbestos testing laboratory and has played a key part in the development of our laboratory testing capabilities over the last 5 years, particularly in gaining an extension to our UKAS ISO 17025 accreditation scope to include asbestos in soils and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) testing. Nichola works closely with the technical team to manage and report on internal quality control measures for all laboratory analysts as per our internal technical operating procedures. She also manages laboratory resources efficiently and focuses on prioritising workloads to meet agreed client led KPIs.
