We have a vast amount of experience in the North West servicing clients in the infrastructure sector including providing a full suite of hazardous materials inspection, testing, advisory and remediation services required to National Highways supporting them to manage their hazardous materials in compliance with UK legislation and regulatory requirements. Other notable projects we have worked on in the North West region include working with Laing O’Rourke on a £1 billion investment on North West’s main airport.
Through delivering risk and asbestos management services to the infrastructure sector, we understand that different types of infrastructure have very unique requirements such as airside insurance, security clearance, Sentinel Cards for the rail network, National Highways Passports, Streetworks training and through to Chapter 8 compliant vehicle signage for working on highways.
Most of our clients who work in the infrastructure sector rely on our flexibility to be working on their projects during weekends, bank holidays and most of all outside normal working hours when traffic management is at its least disruptive.
For many of our infrastructure clients, the ability to test and analyse a vast array of hazardous materials is a must. Our laboratory is one of only 3 in the UK to have a commercially used Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) as a more powerful way of analysing hazardous material samples. Analysis through Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) enables magnification of samples of up to 200,000x, with fibre counting at 2000x, in comparison to 500x magnification when using a Phase Contrast Optical Microscope (PCOM or PCM) method.
As our lab is Europe’s largest accredited asbestos testing laboratory, all of our asbestos testing activities are subject to strict assurance measures to ensure integrity and impartiality. Our BOHS qualified SEM analysts participate in proficiency schemes administered by the Health and Safety Laboratory for external integrity monitoring;
As one of Europe’s largest multidisciplinary hazardous substances testing laboratories, we have developed a suite of services including the Inspection and Testing of multiple potential hazardous materials.
Such materials include but are not limited to:
We provide Hazardous Material - (HazMat) - Surveys, testing of the above materials and removal consultancy, mitigating risk to the health and safety of people and the wider environment.
Additionally, many of our staff are dual-qualified surveyors and asbestos analysts who hold CCNSG safety passports and are trained and qualified to IPAF and PASMA and are trained and experienced in working in confined spaces and working at height.
Through our testing lab and highly qualified personnel, we can offer:
We deliver accredited and certified scientific hazardous materials testing and environmental management services to corporate clients who require regulatory compliance in their buildings and/or assets. We serve over 1,500 clients across 20 sectors and have vast experience working with infrastructure clients across the UK.
