Leading asbestos services provider, Lucion Services, wins bid for West Wales housing association ateb Group

We are pleased to announce that Lucion Services has been re-awarded the contract with our long-standing client, ateb Group, providing asbestos surveys to their housing stock.

As the UK’s market-leading provider of asbestos management services with Europe’s largest asbestos testing laboratory, we have a successful track record of providing asbestos testing, inspection, consultancy and management services to multiple Housing Associations and have serviced in excess of 50,000 tenanted homes in the last 3 years alone, including working for two of the largest Housing Associations in the UK.

The ateb Group works across West Wales and has the collective purpose of ‘creating better living solutions’ for the people and communities of West Wales.

With currently around 3,000 homes predominantly in Pembrokeshire, they work closely with Local Authorities and other partners to develop around 150 new homes every year, to meet affordable housing needs.

Providing our services

Working closely with the compliance and property teams at ateb Group, we will ensure they continue to comply with The Control of Asbestos Regulations (CAR) 2012 by keeping their asbestos registers up to date through the completion of new asbestos management surveys.

Under CAR  2012, it is the responsibility of the duty holder to ensure any asbestos has been identified prior to the commencement of works. Employers must not undertake work until a suitable & sufficient assessment has been undertaken (i.e. asbestos type, matrix, location and condition), with the aim to prevent or reduce potential exposures to asbestos and reduce any risks to the lowest practicable level

We have liaised with their team to understand their requirements and are on track to deliver a service that goes above and beyond the standards for CAR 2012. This includes building data imports from our management system, NexGen, directly into their own system smoothly and seamlessly to mitigate unnecessary administrative time.

With our extensive experience in delivering large scale housing contracts, ateb Group are able to utilise our bespoke options for tenant communications, such as;

• Dual branded appointment letters and cards
• A dedicated Housing Team for booking appointments and answering tenant queries
• Provision of tenant-friendly survey reports
