This time last year, I was reflecting on Lucion's performance after 6 months in post. I spoke of strategic transformations and strengthening our foundations. And I'm pleased to say that this year, we have furthered this work, supporting the future success and growth of Lucion, with some great success stories from across our group of companies.

Starting with our people, I am delighted to highlight the extensive work our 6 business units, their leaders and collective teams have completed during this past year.

Strengthening our management teams both through promotions and recruitment, investing in new equipment, investing in our operational controls and disciplines and most importantly in systems and processes to improve our service to our clients across all of our business units puts us in a significantly stronger position as we go into 2026.

I’m delighted to see the many new projects that were delivered across multiple sectors and disciplines in the last 12 months, and that we have collectively welcomed 770 new client accounts into our portfolio.

Award Winning & Trusted

Our excellent health and safety record continued with our eighth consecutive double RoSPA Gold Award, recognising both our health and safety performance and fleet performance. But the good news doesn’t stop there.

In October, our specialist asbestos services company, Lucion Services Ltd, celebrated double success at the ATaC Awards, winning both the ATaC National Training Award 2025 for achieving the highest number of successful RSPH qualification passes, and the ATaC Trainee Surveyor of the Year 2025.

These awards reinforce our position as industry leaders in professional development and technical excellence.

Expansion & Development

UKAS accreditations have been further expanded and updated, along with the introduction of new services including concrete testing and inspection, and legionella surveying.

Lucion Surveys Ltd also launched our roof condition drone survey service using  specialist drones, revolutionising how we assess and monitor roof conditions for our clients whilst eliminating the need for expensive access equipment and improving safety standards.

In 2026 we will be welcoming our new Hazardous Materials Laboratory Manager and will be launching our new suite of services bringing additional capabilities into our delivery.

Supporting Our People

In 2025, we signed the Building Mental Health Charter, marking a significant milestone in our commitment to workplace wellbeing. This commitment is supported by our comprehensive wellbeing initiatives, including our network of Mental Health First Aiders, the Circles women’s networking group, and Brew Crew for male colleagues.

I’m particularly proud that our efforts in this area were recognised with three shortlist nominations at the This Can Happen Awards 2025 in October.

Our “Been There Will Share” programme was shortlisted for Best New Workplace Approach to Mental Wellbeing, Mariam Elkaradia, our QHSE Manager and Chair of Generation for Change East Midlands, was highly commended for Best Young Wellbeing Advocate, as was our Chief People Officer, Carolyn Cole, highly commended for Executive Sponsor of the Year.

Technological Leaps

November 2025 saw the launch of our completely redesigned NexGen platform to our clients. This major update, 18 months in the making, represents a fundamental transformation in how we manage environmental risk data. The enhanced platform features improved data visualisation, AI-powered dashboard summaries, real-time risk tracking capabilities, and comprehensive WCAG accessibility compliance, ensuring our risk management software is accessible to all users.

Additionally, we’ve continued to invest in security upgrades across all our digital platforms, ensuring our clients’ data remains protected whilst maintaining the accessibility and innovation that sets us apart.

But that’s not all. FLOODScreen, our GIS-enabled tool designed to assess huge portfolios for flood risk at speed, was shortlisted for the NCE Innovation Award 2025.

Festive Period Arrangements

As we approach the holiday season, I would like to let you know about our operational hours.

For most of Lucion’s group of companies, our offices will close at 5pm on 24th December 2025 and reopen on 2nd January 2026. Our specialist radiation team in Aberdeen operates on a modified schedule, closing 5pm on 24th December to 9am 29th December, and then 5pm 31st December to 9am 5th January 2026, with normal operations on all other business days.

During the closure period, you can reach us by submitting an enquiry by clicking here, or email us at info@luciongroup.com. For our clients with emergency out-of-hours arrangements, these services will continue to operate as per your service agreements.

As we close another successful year, I would like to thank all of our customers both new and old for their continued business and support, and we look forward to further developing our working relationships in 2026.

And finally, I would like to thank Lexie-Mae (aged 12) who won our internal Christmas drawing competition, and whose artistry is proudly featured on our end of year message. Thank you to all those that took part.

I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and prosperous New Year.
