How can our urban environment be designed to support healthier lifestyles? And what are the cost implications of integrating wellbeing into design? Buildings that promote personal health and wellbeing are becoming an increasing priority across the built environment, for designers, developers, operators and tenants alike. But given the complicated interplay of factors that create occupant wellbeing, the subject is still an unfamiliar, specialist field.
Arup are hosting a discussion on the Evidence yacht on Thursday 16th March at MIPIM featuring industry and property experts, how to make investments in wellbeing that create brilliant work or living spaces, new design approaches to make this possible and how built assets can produce long-term health benefits.
Martin will discuss how buildings can become both sustainable and healthy, drawing on work by the new partnership between WELL and BREEAM.
With a leading role in creating one of Europe’s leading Innovation Districts Colin will discuss the vital role of health and wellbeing in individual workplaces and across cities of the future.
Sarah will share her insight into the WELL building Standard’s ongoing development.
Alex will discuss his practical experience of implementing health and wellbeing measures into developments, with reference to a major new industrial sector project in the UK which is aiming to achieve BREEAM Excellent, EPC "A" ratings as well as the WELL Building Standard certification. Katie has led a wide variety of healthcare programmes. She will explain how the built environment leads to health outcomes, good and bad, before examining wellbeing initiatives at the community level.
