New machinery provides efficiency and environmental gains for clients of Lucion Services

Lucion Service’s investment in a piece of new machinery for repairing roads following road surveys is providing increased efficiency through the speed of repair time and reduced waste, as well as reducing the carbon footprint.

Roadmender Asphalt is a mobile volumetric thermalisation process machinery that produces premium quality Hot-Mix Asphalt for Pot-Hole Patching and Utility Reinstatements in all-weather conditions.

The investment in the new equipment gives our clients a better service and end product without relying on subcontractors to carry out the reinstatement works following our survey. This allows for time and cost efficiencies for our end client as well as eliminating the complexity of managing a reinstatement sub-contractor.

There are additional environmental benefits to be gained from the process as the machinery reduces the need for new asphalt by recycling the retrieved waste and putting it back in the mix to repair with. The finished mix is no different to premium grade asphalt collected from a plant, thereby, delivering significant efficiencies in performance and savings in the production, transport and cost of fresh Asphalt.

Roadmender Asphalt mixes already used asphalt with rubber modified bitumen, allowing the user to make their own durable, long-lasting asphalt hot-mix in just the quantity required, at the correct temperature for ideal compaction, directly at the job site, with no waste.

Lucion Services are now utilising the Roadmender for work carried out for Utilities and Highway Maintenance Contractors.
