ARPS Secures Substantial Contract Win With Global Multi-Energy Firm TotalEnergies

Radiation protection firm ARPS has secured a five-year contract with global multi-energy firm TotalEnergies.

The contract – to provide radiation protection advisory services to TotalEnergies E&P UK - extends a previous arrangement which had been in place since 2018 until summer 2028.

Under the new contract, ARPS (Aberdeen Radiation Protection Services) will provide round-the-clock radiation protection and radioactive waste services to Alwyn, Dunbar, Elgin Franklin, Gryphon, Culzean, Ailsa FSO (Floating, Storage and Offloading), and West of Shetland and Shetland Gas Plant.

This includes supporting both onshore and offshore operations, providing advice on compliance with relevant legislation; offering practical advice on the day-to-day aspects of working safely with ionising radiations; and providing radiation protection training to personnel.

The Aberdeen-based radiation protection consultancy has been working with the French energy major since 2018, following its merger of Maersk Oil.

ARPS was invited to tender for the new contract when the previous five-year agreement ended.

ARPS was founded in 2001 and provides radiation protection services to a diverse range of sectors, including energy, waste management, transport, food and drink, laboratories, veterinary and higher education.
